Electrophysiology

Electrophysiology studies (EPS) are diagnostic procedures used to look more closely at the electrical function of the heart. They are the most accurate and reliable method of evaluating heart rhythms.

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most common form of irregular heartbeat. It actually doubles the risk of death due to the high risk of clots traveling to the brain causing a stroke. For patients whose only heart problem is AF, Pulmonary Vein Isolation (PVI) ablation offers a cure. It is a delicate and precise surgical technique that shuts off the irregular impulses and allows the heart to beat normally.
