Magnet—the Highest Award in nursing-AGAIN!
 Saint Elizabeth is excited to announce they have received the highest award in nursing for the SECOND time. Magnet designation is the nation's highest honor in nursing, awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Washington , DC . The designation is for an additional four years.

Saint Elizabeth recognizes this ranks them among the elite 6.2 percent of all medical centers in the nation, placing them in the same impressive and selective category with other nationally-recognized facilities such as Johns Hopkins, in Maryland ; the Mayo Clinics, in Minnesota ; the Cleveland Clinic, in Ohio and Mount Sinai, in New York.  Click here to learn more

Burn Center - Nationally Verified
The Saint Elizabeth Regional Burn Center is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS).  Verified burn centers offer specialized care, services, equipment, and staff trained to treat the most critical burn injuries. To become verified, a center must demonstrate leadership in research, education, outreach/prevention, system planning, and the ability to care for the most severely burned patients.  Click here to learn more
 
Radiation Oncology Accreditation
The Saint Elizabeth Radiation Therapy Center just received accreditation by the American College of Radiology. Many radiation therapy centers do not pursue this accreditation because of the demanding and stringent standards. There are only two medical centers in Nebraska with this accreditation, UNMC is the other. There are no accredited centers in Iowa, Kansas or Colorado. Click here to learn more.
 
 
Quality Award for Saint Elizabeth
Saint Elizabeth has recently again received the Recognition for Quality Award from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE)
 for delivering the best health care possible to people living in Nebraska.”  The goal of this award program, according to BCBSNE, is to promote quality of care provided across Nebraska “by recognizing those facilities which have participated in and achieved notable levels of performance in nationally-established, evidence-based health care quality programs.”
 
THREE Gold Seals
of Approval
Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center is feeling a little like Olympic Super Stars---having earned THREE "Golds" or Gold Seals of Approval from the distinguished national certifying organization for more than 17,000 hospitals and healthcare systems, the Joint Commission.
 
Gold Seals number one and two: Adding to the Olympic flavor Saint Elizabeth learned they are the first hospital in the US to have earned Gold Seal certification in BOTH High Risk Neonatal (newborn intensive care) and High Risk Pregnancy certifications. Cardiac Rehabilitation - Nationally Certified
Our Saint Elizabeth Cardiac Rehabilitation program is nationally certified through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. This certification is an assurance to you and your family that you will receive excellent care in our program.  Research supports that cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation improves the outcomes for patients with either cardiac or pulmonary disorders.  Our comprehensive Saint Elizabeth programs provide a number of benefits for heart and lung patients. We accomplish this through: education, exercise, and support.

Bariaric (Surgical Weight Loss) Center - Center of Excellence (ASMBS)
The Saint Elizabeth Bariatric Center---surgical weight loss---is proud to be approved by the
American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as a Center of Excellence. The ASMBS is the largest society in the world dedicated exclusively to bariatric surgery. This award signifies that our Bariatric Center helps reduce the significant health risks associated with obesity in numerous ways.

The Saint Elizabeth Bariatric Surgical Center has been designated a Blue Center of Distinction by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association for its unprecedented quality, collaboration and affordability. It is the only bariatric surgery facility in the area to have earned this designation.

Saint Elizabeth wins GOLD Cardiac Award
Saint Elizabeth is proud to now be recognized with a prestigious GOLD award for cardiac care and cardiac patient safety. They received the 2009 ACTION Registry®–GWTGTM Gold Performance Achievement Award.  This performance award is presented for meeting strict cardiac care and prevention treatments for patients during TWO full calendar years. The treatments are defined by the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association. The award is bestowed once a facility documents they provided these stringent standards for at least 85% of their cardiac patients. Saint Elizabeth was delivering this high level of care 93% of the time. Click here to learn more.
 
Saint Elizabeth Stroke Program earns national Silver plus Award
The stroke program at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center has just received the Silver Plus Performance Award by the American Stroke Association (ASA)/American Heart Association (AHA).  The ASA/AHA’s “Get With the Guidelines®” (GWTG) awards are based on a medical center’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally-accepted standards and recommendations. The College of American Pathologists (CAP) has recently awarded accreditation to the laboratory at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center after a rigorous review process.
