Antepartum-High Risk Pregnancies

 

When a high risk mom-to-be is in distress and needs to be transported to Saint Elizabeth, we have a variety of ways to get her there.

Saint Elizabeth offers the only team in Nebraska with a dedicated maternal transport team!

In all we have 14 nurses who provide 24/7 coverage. While most of their time is spent in-house, they need to be ready to leave on short notice should a medical emergency arise.

Our maternal transport team consists of experienced labor and delivery nurses who receive additional training specifically in medical air transport.

Our NICU transport team assists with medical transports for infants three months of age or less. This team is comprised of experienced NICU nurses who also received specific additional training.

Both the maternal and NICU teams are trained in the specific needs for ground and air transport. By air they fly via helicopter and by ground use Lincoln Fire and Rescue equipment. They also provide back-up for the Life Net air transport out of Omaha.

We have more than 200 NICU transports each year and around 60 maternal transports. Our teams serve our surrounding areas including BryanLGH east and west campuses, Seward, York, Crete, Geneva, Tecumseh, Hebron, Beatrice, David City, Fairbury, Falls City, Osceola, Henderson and Nebraska City.
